Help Us Bring a New Creative Writing Experience to Baldwin County

We're exploring a hands-on creative writing experience for children and are currently seeking volunteer instructors who would enjoy helping young authors bring their ideas to life.

Dyslexia awareness month is approaching

      Coming in October

Dyslexia Awareness Month

We're beginning early with a new family resource designed to help families better understand dyslexia, family patterns, childhood struggles, and the value of a comprehensive evaluation.

Inner compass library-
family digital guidance, digital concernment conversations, healthy technology choices

Every family's digital choices will look different. Our goal isn't perfection or avoiding every popular platform. - It's awareness, thoughtful limits, meaningful alternatives sprinkled in, and helping children gradually develop discernment in the digital world.

Volume 1-4
A great place to begin

Volume 5: For growing thinkers

Create your Family's Technology Balance

Every family's boundaries will look a little different. This is one example of how families can sort technology choices into three simple catagories:

Our hard no, sometimes okay, and things we want more of.
Use this as inspiration to talk together about what fits your family values, your child's age and maturity, and the healthy balance you want to create at home.

The goal isn't perfection-It's helping children gradually learn discretion and make thoughtful choices for themselves.

"But nothing bad happened LAST time" explanation and perspective.
The importance of our children starting to practice and understand how to use their own discretion. We won't always be there to protect them.

A moment to reflect

Small reminders about childhood, connection,
and the world our children are growing up in.

KIDS LIKE PIZZA

Turn an ordinary pizza day into something children can explore, create, and enjoy!

Our Pizza Fun Friday Activity Pack brings together playful activities for elementary-age children-from designing a dream pizza and discovering fresh ingredients to pizza history, math, crafts, and more.
The best may be to pull from it what activity pages you would like to use and expand from there.

If you have the space and resources to let the children make their own "pizzas" with a variety of healthy alternative crusts and toppings....
Maybe encourage each other to try a new topping!

A little food. A little fun.
A little learning.

Free for families, classrooms, schools, & community groups.

Sharing the pizza day fun

Whole child happenings of Baldwin County recently contributed a Pizza Day treat to a local school, along with a collection of our Pizza Fun learning activities for the school to use and enjoy.

We're happy to now share those activities with families and educators through our Educational Resource Library.

Sensory support

Every Child Can Benefit

Every child benefits from opportunities that support movement, sensory exploration, body awarness, coordination, self-regulation, independence, and everyday skills.

At our own events and enrichment experiences, we have watched children naturally seek out swinging, movement, tactile play, squishy materials, climbing, pushing, pulling, and other sensory-rich experiences.

Some seek them more intensely than others, but the desire to move, explore, and engage the senses is a natural part of childhood.
